Advancing Sewing as an Art and Life Skill.
ASG is a national, non-profit guild of people who love to sew. The SPS proudly serves the sewing enthusiasts in Thurston, Pierce, Lewis, Grays Harbor and South King Counties of Washington State. Our goal is to learn and to share our love of sewing with one another and others in our communities.
We have 19 Neighborhood Groups (NGs) which give members the chance to share techniques through demonstrations and participation.

We host social events such as fashion shows and sewing fairs and many do sewing related service projects for our community.
Our members have a wide range of skills and we love to share what we know. Whether you are an experienced sewist or a beginner, you will find something to increase your confidence and expand your skills.

Teaching Statement
As we are an organization that values, respects and appreciates the talents of one another; and
We acknowledge that every Member cannot attend every learning opportunity; and
We respect the effort, time and expense an Instructor devotes to preparing for and teaching a class; and
We recognize that a Member may want to share this information with others; and
Therefore, any Member, after taking any class presented at an SPS event or meeting who wishes to share the information must first ask the Instructor of said class to either:
- Teach the class at a Neighborhood Group meeting; or
- Obtain the instructor’s permission to teach the class and/or use the Instructor’s class materials.
